Neil and Ida Down - Answered a Question by Abbott (02 Aug 08 11:36)

The situation is very fluid at the moment. Yes, smoking is allowed in certain areas with Princess Cruises but next year, who knows, so don't bank on this year's rules and regs being incorporated into next years. Also don't forget that Princess is owned by of P & O (yes, I know and Carnival) and P & O are joining the rest of the cruise lines in vastly reducing the smoking space made available. There are also new regulations which prohibit Captains and staff from drinking alcohol on some ships so new things happen all the time.... Neil .

I think you will find Carnival are the owners of P&O. P&O do not own the princess line Carnival do.

Sorry Mrs J. P&O own Princess and the are both owned by Carnival. The only reason Carnival bought P&O was so that they could own Princess so technically you are right but Princess are still controlled, as much as they can be, by P & O and they are both owned by Carnival. .... Neil.
