We found that going to the highest available floor of the Empire State Building (depending on maintenance workings etc.) on the morning of the cruise was an experience never to be forgotten.

Depending on the jet lag you can get over to NYC from your hotel the day you land. Alternatively you will be awake very early the next morning so you can do an early morning trip but this will be more rushed as you have to be back at your hotel for the pick up. I would go on the first day.

Hello....The answer is probably yes but we have no idea what time your flight arrives in Newark or which hotel you are booked into. Give us those and we can supply a better answer....regards....Heathe.

Your best bet is to get back to EWR airport - I assume that the hotel will have a free shuttle - from there take AirTrain to Newark Liberty International Airport Train Station. Then you take either the NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak trains. I would take the NJ Transit to NY Penn Station - this brings you out very close to Macys etc. Be careful with the names of the stations as they have both got the same names! Penn Station Newark and Penn Station New York!!

Depending on the time your flight arrives into Newark you may have some time on the day you land. However we found (returned today) that it was easier on the last day. You will have to be up early on diembarkation day as they only have approx 4 ours to get the ship ready for the next cruise. You must vacate you stateroom by 8am and disembarkation begins shortly after this time. If you have transfers booked you will come off the ship in colour order. If your intention is to get a taxi, you could ask the hotel where you are staying the pre cruise night whether you can either have a courtesy room or baggage storage, then you can "carry off" you bags and leave the ship at any timne after docking. We managed a good 4 hours in Manhatten yesterday which was good. Have a great trip, ours was fabulous.
