No you can walk from say the port side to starboard side around the stern but not around the the front.
Thank you Mr/Mrs Middleton. As you've been on the QV, would you mind if I asked you a few more questions? I'm booked on the June Baltics trip and I'm curious about what it's really like - I've only ever cruised on the QM2 before.
Hi Mr/Mrs Weston. I sailed on the QV on the 1st leg of its maiden world cruise from Southampton to NYC. The sea state was pretty severe and whilst the QV didn't handle it as well as QE2 and QM2 (because they were both built for the North Atlantic sea conditions in mind), I still managed to fill my days with ativities so that must mean it wasn't too bad. The only thing was that the stateroom creaked all night long - but again, that was only because of the sea conditions and not because of poor design.
Anyway, the QV is a beautiful ship. The moment you step on board you know that this is a Cunard vessel. The Britannia restaurant is very similar to its counterpart on QM2 and the food is certainly of the highest quality. The Queens Room, The Theatre and The Shopping Arcade are absolutely fabulous. The Commodore Club is a fantastic place to sit and have a cocktail - it is situated on the forward part of Deck 10 and has panoramic views out over the ocean - truly relaxing. The entertainment in the various bars are also equally as good as that found on the QM2. The Lido is the alternative to the main restaurant and offers several themed buffet selections. The highlights of the Lido are the Pizzaria which cooks Pizza & Pasta to order and also a Sandwich Bar which is fairly similar to Subway (if you are familiar with this popular chain).
One thing you MUST do is visit the Royal Spa. This place is truly amazing. Although I didn't make any use of the treatment facilities, I did buy a 3-day pass to the therapy pools and thermal suites - approx. $60 & worth every penny. You get a wonderful robe & slippers to use and the thermal suite has tiled/heated beds which look directly out to sea through floor to ceiling glass - Beautiful.
I found all the staff to be as aimiable and courteous as on the other ships and thoroughly enjoyed my time aboard her.
I know you will enjoy her too. Have a safe and pleasant journey.
Hi Mr Eyre, Thanks for your feedback, it's good to hear you enjoyed your trip so much. We're off in a few weeks and really looking forward to it now. Regards, Susan.
