I think you'll fit in fine. Often there are ladies who go together on cruises and even if you don't find any, unlikely though that is, that you get on with mixed couples will welcome your company, people are so friendly on cruises, you'll love it ... Ida.
Thank you for helping put our mind at rest we are so looking forward to ur trip on the grand princess you seem to anwser such a lot have you been on this particular ship is it a good choice for first timers.
Thank you for a lovely response. No, not Grand but we have been on Golden Princess and loved it although we generally prefer slightly smaller ships. Princess has a great British style considering it is run on American lines, if that is not a contradiction in terms. Spend a little time getting to know the layout of the ship, which is BIG. I don't know your circumstances but there will almost certainly be an "unaccompanied" group (singles) on board and that means that you can find a load of people, usually great fun to be with, with whom you can eat, go ashore with and/or just sit and natter with. But joining them is not compulsory nor will you be pressed to join them. I just know that once you get the hang of life on board you won't be able to get enough of it. Lots of love .... Ida.
If the ships doesn't already cater for singles (we have cruised and some have singles meetings just after setting sail, ask staff/check in) You could go to the informaton desk and put an 'ad' type request in the ships paper! But you will ot have to as cruisers are so friendly. A tip is join in all the fun/games/quizzes as people generally see you as a fun single/couple etc. We have just returned (17.07.08) from taking my daughter '17' to Aiya Napa, Cyprus (we haven't had a beach based holiday for 8 years) As we walked around we talked to folk some looked at us strangely because we said 'Hello' or 'Hi' It sometimes appears folk only talk/mix if they have had a drink, but cruisings not like that. ENJOY.
Thanks for that i know what you mean about talking to people they look at you as if your mad.i have trouble stopping my sister from talking to everyone .i just dont want us to be classed as old maids wich we certainly are not, love joining in on all things.but we dont want to be looked upon as looking for partners either.we will just have to be the hinge and bracket of the grand princess many thanks.
