Hello RCI but book it quickly as they may have your dates on the current early booking offer for 2009,and you get the choice of cabins,if you book as low down and as near midships as you can this would reduce any movement there may be.Most of the lifts are open view on at least one side but both ships are big and it can take a lot of walking if any of you have mobility problems.Yes P&O have a pretty relaxed attitude to bringing drink on board but with a party of 6 carting some wine or spirits on board would be the least of your worries?enjoy your cruise.
RCI over P&O any time IMHO. Tons of activities for the children. No such thing as special offers though - Independence is already sold out for Aug 1st and 15th sailings during the school holidays next year for 4-berth rooms - that shows how popular she is. What is the big issue about taking two bottles of wine on board just to save yourself a few £ when you have spent thousands on a holiday. You can get a drinkable bottle for around $27 which is the same as any restaurant in England. No movement on this ship as she has great stabalisers. Cannot help re mother in a lift on a 15 story ship though. Stairs make good exercise...
I agree with both of the previous ...go for RCI. Yes P & O will allow alcohol to be brought on board now but with everyone else saying no or restricting who knows what P & O will be doing next year. Once you've got up the "loyalty club" ladder RCI offer much better incentives than P & O although Princess 's are still very good. regards Neil.
Can't comment on P&O but RC Independence of the Seas has something for all ages, don't miss the ice shows on board they're fabulous performances. Plenty of glass lifts with stunning views down the middle of the ship. I am in my 40's and cruised in June had a fabulous time and would go again and again. Start shopping round now for prices try this web site and google "cruise holidays" / "cruises" you will get loads of cruise agents come up with all kinds of special offers and prices. I don't think any of you would be disappointed with RC. Try to get cabins on decks 6, 7 or 8 mid ship they are closest to the lifts and very central.
