It is a Royal Caribbean ship and although not a lot is known on it at the moment it is new with lots of new facilties probably aimed at a younger age group but you can enjoy wathing others have fun and maybe join in !! The area you are cruising in is excellent no doubt you will visit Madeira, thie is a bit hilly in parts but all the visits should prove to be interesting to see if you have not been before so relax and enjoy.

Hi, We've just got off of Independence of the Seas and although a majority of the activities are aimed at a younger age group, there were still plenty of things to do! The ship itself is beautiful with plenty of artwork to look at, a great library overlooking the Royal Promenade for some great people watching, the internet for staying in touch with folks back home (and boasting about your cruise of course), there were dance classes and the usual bridge classes. Lots of films in the cinema and some stunning shows/ice shows in the evening. The Viking Lounge was our favourite haunt which has some great views over the pool area and has a good selection of music in the evenings. We're in our mid 30's but even I didn't fancy ice skating or the Flowrider, which looked too much like hard work! But I think you'll enjoy IOTS and as the previous reply said, people watching (especially the flowrider) is such good fun! Also, I would base myself around the Solarium pool as this area if for people over the age of 16 and had some comfy sofas and sun loungers for those of us not inclined to "get out there" too much on holiday! Hope you have a great cruise!

You haven't said how old you are, we are in our 50's and had a great time on Voyager. The ice skating show was brilliant, as was the visiting acts, from tributes to classical, the small bar's around the ship had different theme's, i.e. piano bar with music from 20's-90's, in one bar a couple (guest's) entertained us with tango's etc. On RCI there's something for everyone. Enjoy and write a review when you get back.
