Depending on the type of cruise you are looking to do would depend on the cabin that you should travel in. If you are traveling to a very picture-esque area and you like to have pre-dinner drinks together, it would be nice to have a balcony cabin to enjoy the views. If it is a Ship with large deck space then either an inside or outside cabin may be what you would want to look for.

It all depends on budget. A balcony or outside cabin is of course the best option to go for regarding views and space if you can afford it. And if you're going somewhere particularly picturesque like Norway or the Caribbean, I can really say it's worth paying the extra for. One word of warning - make sure you book a cabin that isn't 'obstructed' or 'restricted'. You don't want to get there and have a lifeboat spoiling the view!

For first cruise try and stay middle of the ship. decks 5-8 would be best. inside or outside is personel choice. i have done both but i do prefer outside purely so i can see what the weather is like. the cabins are the same but one with a windo.

If you can afford it, do have an outside cabin, it really is worth it and doesn't cost much extra, per night. I love having a balcony. Choose a cabin on a lowish dech and between the two stair cases (midships) so you feel less motion. The front of the ship didps up and down, in the back you can hear engine noise.
