Find Your Cruise
2-5-2 config so you don't want the middle of the middle, admitedly there is a bit of leg room in Coach, you have to pay for alcoholic drinks, and for headphones to watch the movie, movies will be bland family viewing, and re-runs of 'I Love Lucy' and expect grumpy aged cabin crew. You don't get socks or eyepads so take your own. On the plus side, they have always been very punctual.
Good news about the legroom, my husband is 6ft tall so it really makes a differance to him. If they can get us there and back on time, we'll just live with the rest!
The plane is the least of your worries. Miami airport is THE PITS. Interminable queues, rude and arrogant staff. I'll never fly there again!
Not really surprised, Orlando was just the same!
Agree with a,n. We have flown with AA and have never had any delays but be warned - the food is terrible!! To avoid being in the 'middle of the middle' get your flight/record locator from your agent or Princess. Go to www.aa.com, click on the 'my reservations' tab and from there you should be able to find your allocated seats. If you don't like them, you have the option to change (providing, of course, there are other seats available). You may not be able to do this until nearer the date of travel, but keep trying. We have flown into Miami and didn't find it any worse than other US airports. Enjoy your cruise.
We'll load up with sandwiches in the Departure lounge, but with the food on board ship to look forward to, it won't bother us too much! As long as we can wash it down with a glass of wine, no problem. Thanks!!
We flew with AA to miami at Easter for overnight stop and then to board Emerald princess in fort lauderdale. No delays but we had not been able to pre book our seats and our party of 8 were all seperated. When we checked in we were told Princess had a bulk booking of 30+ passengers and that AA were unable to change any of the seats. When we boarded we found that many other families, some with children like us, had also been seperated. All the princess passengers were in the same block of the plane so we all swapped around where necessary. Cabin stewards were not happy. Complained to princess about this when we got on ship and they blamed AA. Same thing happened on flight home. Going from Southampton next year. Cruise itself was fab though, it was the getting there and back that spolit it.
Hi there. We took this flight in November 2007 from Heathrow to Miami with American, stayed overnight in Miami and then another flight to San Juan to board Crown Princess. We found the flight, food and entertainment to be OK but, as others have said, you have to beware of the block booking, which means that, if you just turn up at the check-in, there is no guarantee that you will sit together. Ask Princess or Travel Agent for your Flight Number / Booking Reference with AA, then go onto the AA web site and reserve your seats. Otherwise no problems. - John.
