Wow!!! Gobsmackin' 5500 pax I don't know?? Can't imagine the tendering service at some ports & wouldn't want to arrive late for initial embarkation. Eat your heart out 'every' cruise line.
How strange that 77 people have read this thread and no one has any comments on how she looks and whether they would cruise on her. What about you chaps who cruise on converted Dover-Calais car ferries (aka Thomson or Island) - any comments?? - and that is just MHO.....and trying to get a reaction.
Hang on old boy... I hear Thomson has been signed up as a tender provider.
Great response Heh.
The itineraries planned for Oasis. - Eastern Caribbean itinerary from Fort Lauderdale to Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; and Nassau in the Bahamas. It will alternate with a Western Caribbean itinerary to Labadee, Haiti; Falmouth, Jamaica and Cozumel, Mexico. The ship will sail the Eastern Caribbean exclusively until April, 2010. The Western Caribbean voyage begins alternating in starting in May, 2010. Goes on sale Sept 3, first cruise Dec 12 and I believe all these ports are docked not tendered
Why on earth cant they get decent ships like RCI Independence of the Seas or Oasis of the Seas going to the FAR EAST instead of the Caribbean isnt there enough ships going there already. Why do all the new ships have to go to the Carribean surely the FAR EAST is more interesting.
C'mon people, Aldrich puts a lot of time & effort into responding to your questions, irrespective of how tedious & repetitive the majority them are asked. Give him the courtesy of a response, be it negative or positive. Thank you in advance.
C'mon people. Aldrich puts a lot of time & effort into answering all your questions , no matter how tedious & repetitive they frequently appear. At least give him the courtesy of responding to his request............Thank You .
I did say I was trying to provoke a reaction by refering to them as car ferries....
Thanks for your support Wilba, I must buy you a drink one day! Seems like it is just you and me against the world some times!
Just managed to get time to view the video. Quite amazing!! Like you, I think the aft pool and the loft cabins are fabulous. Not sure about the boardwalk, central park, etc. - look too much like a holiday park on land, but I suppose this might be what they are trying to achieve. As such, I am sure the ship will appeal to people with young or teenage children. I cannot imagine the logistics of coping with 5,500 pax. The designers will have to have come up with something pretty good, particularly with regard to dining. Lots of people are already complaining about not being able to get tables in the buffet dining areas on the 3,000'ish pax ships. It will be interesting to read the reviews (and, dare I say it, the complaints) when she goes into service. Who knows, we might cruise on her just for the hell of it!!
