Great ship with lovely crew... Take some Euros for the main ports they will accept them readily although you may get small change in local currency where it is not the Euro (but ask for change in Euros anyway and you will often get it) Use US Dollars in St Petersburg in prefernce to Euros. Yes the ship has a currency exchange section which is often very busy and you will get a better exchange rate in Marks and Spencer so take what you can from there. I have just realised that this is too late but your question has only just been asked a day late. So for all the others thinking the same question I'll leave it in. ... Neil.
Did you obtain a visa for st petersburg have been sent an application form & cost is £128.15 each. told by travel agent could take organized tour by royal carribbean, the cruise line we are going by & it will be organised by them, is that level of cost included. welcome advice from experienced traveler.
If you take the ship's excursion(s) they will arrange a blanket visa at no extra cost. Aldrich of Newbury is the expert in this field and a question to him will solve the problem as to how a visa is arranged should you use one of the recognised local agents like Denruss. They are cheaper and better than the ship, so ask him about that. Regards... Neil.
Could Aldrich of Newbury pass comment on my original question, as kindly advised Neil & Ida?
Taking cruise next May. Thanks Winder.
You will have to hold on as I think he is away cruising at the moment. Neil.
Thank you, very useful.
