Find Your Cruise
We did the same cruise last year on Celebrity, there were 10 of us ranging in age from 6 to 78, with three teenagers. It was fantastic with plenty of facilities for the children. We have just come back from the Caribbean where we cruised with Royal Caribbean, and they definitely have a lot going on for the kids, but you have to remember it depends what ship you are cruising on, some have a lot more i.e ice rink, rock climbing, etc. Celebrity is definitely superior overall but there is never a dull moment on this cruise, so either will be fantastic. Hope you have as good a time as we did!!

Hello....Go for Celebrity then if the ports of call are interesting enough. Royal Caribbean have the edge over Celebrity as far as children's entertainment is concerned but they are both good and there are not many sea days usually on that cruise and the food on Celebrity outrates that of RCI. That by the way is a personal opinion from someone with no children....Heathe.
RCI is more child-friendly but having said that X has a very good kids club too. This is very port intesive cruise and doesn't attract that many children anyway. X is classier, better food, service and atmostphere and if it works out cheaper I'd take that one.
Definitely RCI - when they have flown the nest then Celebrity.
Have you also looked at Fred Olsen ? They do Family Friendly Cruises during school hols.
Did the Baltic last yasr on the Jewle of the Seas, agree with other crusiers RCL do have better facilities for children, Celebrity are good but more for the mature cruisers!! At most of the ports on the baltic it is possible to do your own trips usually on the old Red Buses, but if your going to St Petersburg do the orgainised tours as it is not an easy place to get around on your own, and if you go off independently you have to purchase your own visas which are expensive. If you are overnighting in St Petersburg then get as many trips in as possible. It is a great city and well worth every penny you spend on the trips. Have a good crusie.
I agree RCI is more child friendly but is a 4 star line unlike Celebrity which boosts 5 stars ( beautiful ships) depends what you want most. Me I would go for Celebrity every time. By the way it does have quite a lot of kids and young adults entertainment. Good luck I`m sure you will enjoy either. Kathlee.
Hi,taking 2 children round baltics at end of july on
N C L Jewel one aged 15,one aged 16,trying something else as we always go RCL where kids are looked after realy well , they left cabin at 10 am and returned only at 1am next day, totaly safe. Make sure kids go to teen club and make freinds ,you will have a great cruise if there happy. will let you know how NCL compare to RCL after august .
My wife and i cruised with celebrity last xmas we had no problems and we cant speak highly enough of the staff and the food so personaly we would choose celebrity every time.i hope this is useful to you.
I took my 15 year old daughter on the Jewel of the seas Baltic cruise in 2005 having cruised about 15 times before. She , at that time, had some hang ups about being alone in public places. On the first morning I left her asleep in the cabin while I went for breakfast. When I returned to the cabin she was upset because she felt unable to leave the cabin. I took her to the Teen centre and progessively she got to know people of her own age.
By the end of the cruise I hardly saw her because she had made so many friends.
